About Us

As a true modern love story, we met on a little app named tinder in the summer of 2019. Brantley was doing an internship in Seattle, and knew virtually no one going into it, so he promptly downloaded the app, hoping it'd ease the boredom until he was back at Brown for the start of his junior year. Meanwhile, Griffin having just finished his junior year at the University of Washington, decided to give dating an honest shot for the first time. By Brantley's third day in Seattle, we'd matched and begun chatting. With a little bit of humor, courage, and flirting, the chatting blossomed into a first date. We met by UW's law library and walked together to the light rail station and eventually settled at a coffee shop in Capitol Hill. The conversation was great so we decided to turn it into a walk. We ended up walking from Cap Hill to downtown to along the water, and five miles and two hours later we decided to call the date and take an Uber back to Seattle's University District. A few days go by and date two is on the books. We met on campus for a walk through Ravenna and the same story happens, five miles and two hours later we're ending the date with Brantley getting lunch from Mod Pizza in U district. Good things come in threes, so we decide to go see the live action Lion King downtown. Both of our first movie dates, and from there the sparks are undeniable. We spend the rest of the summer falling more and more in "like" and on August 4th (the day after Griffin's 21st birthday), we have our final goodbye for the summer hanging out with Samantha Leigh, Sam Schaengold, and Patrick Cooper. We lose touch for a few months as Brantley journey's back to Atlanta for the rest of the summer before going to school and Griffin heads to Vegas to celebrate turning 21 with his family before his senior year at UW.

Fortunately, Brantley gets an in-person interview at Microsoft and forgets to book a hotel room. If only he knew someone in Seattle... This leads to an amazing 48 hours filled with a mini date and a life changing interview. In the weeks following, Brantley is definitely feeling the heart strings tug and has to decide between an internship at Squarespace in New York, a city he's dreamed of living in since he was a kid, and a new dream of being a Microsoft intern and the promise of getting to spend more time with Griffin. Young, hopeful, and ambitious he picks Squarespace. This decision plagues him more and more as they continue texting everyday from that October to December and eventually Brantley breaks the contract to pick Microsoft. Simultaneously, Brantley asks Griffin to start dating long distance, but Griffin isn't in love with the idea and says no. Undeterred and optimistic (fun fact: we're each others only relationship), Brantley books a flight to Seattle to spend a weekend together in January of 2020. After another incredible weekend exploring Seattle, watching Star Wars, and meeting more of Griffin's frat brothers, we wake up at 5AM for Brantley's flight back to providence chatting about how we don't want this to end and decide to officially be boyfriends. The world is looking up, can't wait to spend so much of 2020 together doing stuff like normal.

Obviously, that didn't happen and some major moments we planned to have together like a spring break trip, spring weekend, and Griffin's college graduation with a big party and meeting the Hardy's in Seattle didn't go according to plan but were replaced by their own magical moments in a dingy basement in UW's greek row for the summer of 2020.

Fast forward through Griffin finding his first big boy job at Audere, Brantley graduating from Brown, a week in Atlanta to meet most of the Leaphart's (was supposed to be all but a cyber attack on a gas line prevented the trip they had planned), Brantley starting at Microsoft, them buying a house together in October of 2021, going to Griffin's brother's wedding in 2022, getting a french bulldog (Cash) a month after, buying their first car together in 2023, and celebrating their first friend's weddings (shoutout to Lucas and Halle and Paul and Ariella), Griffin proposes on our five year anniversary in Sydney!
